Ai3 Critique

When looking at the Ai3 website I was so amazed at how extravagant their work was. The designs are so clean and functional but at the same time is able to look at a room for its beauty. Their portfolio of work inspires me to work hard so that maybe one day I can be apart of something so exciting!

Downtown Contour Drawings

This is a contour drawing of the Carolina Theatre in Downtown Greensboro. This was the first of my four drawings so I was not exactly sure how much time to spend on it or how big to make it so it basically turned into my basic setup for my other drawings.

First Sketch of Education Building

This is my first sketch of the Education Building on campus. We did this during class the other day and I really enjoyed learning how to capture the angles of the building and how to create a focal point in the drawing.

Negative Space: Corner Unit

I sketched this corner unit in my dining room during lunch one afternoon and I think I did a really good job capturing all the negative space and keeping it symmetrical.

Upside Down Bicycle Drawing

After a few days of practicing negative space drawings we were asked to draw a bike that was downstairs in the lobby. I believe my bike turned out very well, even the smallest details made so much of a difference.

Second Sketch of Education Building

My second drawing of the Education building turned out so much better than the first because I not only took more time to draw it but I also payed more attention to details.

Blind Contour of Left Hand

This blind contour was very interesting because I was trying so hard to capture every little line on every part of my left hand. I could not believe that is actually turned out decent, it was exciting for me to be able to draw a blind contour for the first time!

Negative Space: Stool

Although this negative space drawing was easier that the other ones I attempted I was able to use it to learn how to keep the different lines symmetrical.

Negative Space: Wooden Chair

This was my second negative space drawing ever and I think I did a good job capturing the angles of the chair. It took me a while to get right but I it turned out pretty even.

Negative Space: Wooden Chair

This was my first negative space drawing ever! I think it turned out really well considering I have never drawn anything difficult, let alone a chair, in my life. I was very pleased.
