For our first project in studio this semester we started with taking a look at the community and the different paths that people take on a day to day basis to find things. When I first started thinking about this assignment I wrote a simple list of things such as signs, colors, shapes but now after reading Kevin Lynch's book The Image Of The City I have opened my eyes to details such as huge landmarks, lighting, visibility and obstructions. Below are some of my initial sketches from my house off of Tower Road to my destination the Glenwood Branch Library.

I really like your Wayfinding project. The pictures you created are effective at representing Lynch's city planning elements. I also found it helpful that you wrote down the buildings and landmarks you encountered, it further emphasized your experience and helped me understand your "mental map". The only suggestion I have would be to maybe use a little color on some of the smaller vignettes, some to highlight what made you notice that particular spot in the first place. I think your last image has a great impact, it is drawn well with just enough color to make it pop! I believe that I would recognize your particular building if I passed by it one day because of your picture.
